Cars
Cars is a Pixar classic. By that, I mean that it’s the exact same formula they do 90% of the time. “What if __ had feelings”. Not saying it doesn’t work a lot of the time, but, this time, it’s cars.
While some find this movie pure nostalgia, and I’m not gonna argue with that, I find this movie a 90 minute snooze fest. The main plot points in this movie is the 3-way-tie in the beginning, getting lost in Radiator Springs, and the final race. That’s it. The film is extremely uneventful and no amount of dumb jokes can save it. The tractors and Frank are stupid, they stay in Radiator Springs for way too long, Owen Wilson can feel somewhat flat in certain scenes and the sports metaphors aren’t helping either.
In the end, this movie is a slow, agonising watch that would do you better if you didn’t revisit it and keep whatever fond memories you had of it.
