Captain America: Brave New World
This movie certainly wasn’t a wrong step for Marvel, but it also wasn’t a right one either. The movie itself is pretty mediocre, and it’s pretty clear that it should’ve been a hulk movie, but this movie just feels really out of place, like it threw a bunch of concepts together with no real thought. The one thing this movie does pretty well is the acting, I didn’t think there were any flat out bad performances, and I like what the actors did for the characters pretty well.
The pacing was quite weird, it felt slow but fast at the same time, which isn’t a bad thing, its just an issue of the ups and downs this movie has. It would just jump between action and inaction as if it were Hamlet, but not as long obviously. The film is entertaining when it tries, but when you look at it as a whole, you realise that you just remembered the fun parts, which is why it is quite a drag to get through.
Overall, this is a movie that is very okay, with some good characters and solid performances all around, but the pacing and plot feel very messy, and you really can tell that they just needed to make the movie, because of the wider MCU.
