Oppenheimer

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is a tense, fascinating dive into the mind of a man who helped change the world forever.

Cillian Murphy does great playing the lead role; to me, this is really his standout role. While being in a lot of Nolan’s best films, surprisingly up until Oppenheimer, Cillian never played a lead, so he took that opportunity and absolutely nailed it, showing all the different sides of the flawed man. In addition to Cillian, the rest of the cast, including Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, and Florence Pugh, all do some of their best performances.

The storytelling also keeps you hooked, showing the personal and public struggles of Oppenheimer, though you’ve got to stay focused to keep up. for the entire 3-hour runtime. The visuals are incredible, including the amazing camera work and directing by Nolan, who’s close-ups especially show incredible detail and emotion in the tense scenes.

The score and sometimes even the silence, especially in the Nuke drop scene, add so much to the movie. Some parts feel dark and gloomy, and some parts feel, in a way, inspiring. It’s smart, intense, and thought-provoking.

Overall, the film provides an intensely traumatising and emotional experience that makes for a great film. We give Oppenheimer an 87%
