Thor 2: The Dark world (2013)

Thor: The Dark World (2013), directed by Alan Taylor and starring Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, is the cinematic equivalent of accidentally clicking “skip intro” on a show and realizing… that was the interesting part.

This movie is so dark, I don’t mean emotionally—I mean I literally couldn’t see what was happening half the time. I thought my screen brightness was broken. Nope, just vibes.

The villain Malekith shows up looking like he lost a bet and now has to destroy the universe about it. His personality? Zero. His motivation? Unclear. His screen presence? I’ve seen more threatening IKEA instructions.

The plot is basically: magic goo, random portals, and people explaining things using words like “convergence” so you don’t ask questions. Thor spends most of the movie either confused or hitting things like he’s trying to fix WiFi.

Meanwhile, Natalie Portman looks like she’s one email away from quitting the Avengers entirely.

BUT FINALLY!! Loki shows up. Tom Hiddleston absolutely hijacks the movie like, “Don’t worry guys, I’ll add a personality.” Every time he’s on screen, the movie suddenly remembers how to be entertaining.

Audiences were like, “Yeah… it’s alright,” while critics were like, “We will never speak of this again.”

Overall, Thor: The Dark World feels like Marvel made a movie out of the middle of a story… and forgot the beginning and end.
